Creating seamless course enrollment by unifying fragmented platform workflows.
Role: Sole Product Designer (with guidance from a Design and Research Lead and Chief Design Officer)
Timeline: 8 month-long project for Teledyne FLIR
Constraints: Integrate seamlessly with Scalefast, Marketo, Litmos, Infrared Training, and the FLIR Portal; Address limitations on multiple promo codes and seat selections; Minimize new technological implementations; Adhere to existing system capabilities
Impact: Delivered a fully integrated, multi-platform user flow across live product, training, and promotion pages—supported by annotated prototypes, backend coordination, and scalable UX decisions ready for post-MVP evolution
Overview
FLIR Course is a multi-platform course enrollment flow designed to help camera buyers move from product purchase to training access with less friction.
Problem
FLIR users needed a seamless way to register products, redeem training access, and enroll in courses across disconnected systems without feeling redirected between platforms.
Journey Alignment
Connecting purchase, registration, and enrollment.
The project began by clarifying how different users moved from buying a FLIR camera to accessing course training. Mapping the journey helped align business goals, user needs, and platform constraints before defining the MVP flow.

MVP Direction
Separating launch needs from future ambition.
Client discussions revealed that bulk purchases, product registration, and course access required different levels of technical support. Splitting the experience into MVP and North Star flows kept the launch path realistic while preserving a scalable future direction.

Prototype Handoff
Documenting system logic for development.
The final prototype connected Scalefast, Marketo, Litmos, Infrared Training, and the FLIR Portal into one annotated journey. Detailed annotations clarified required actions, dependencies, platform handoffs, and implementation notes for stakeholders and developers.

Promo Code Logic
Reducing friction in training redemption.
Bulk seat purchases and multiple promo codes created a critical usability and technical challenge. The flow introduced clearer redemption points so users could adjust quantities and redeem training access without restarting the process.

Communication Strategy
Guiding users without overwhelming them.
Email touchpoints were structured around key moments like order confirmation, product delivery, registration, promo code redemption, and course follow-up. Marketo provided a more flexible communication layer where Scalefast automation limits created constraints.

Impact
Launching a cohesive course enrollment experience.
The final experience unified live product, training, and promotion pages across a complex backend ecosystem. The work delivered annotated prototypes, backend coordination, and scalable UX decisions ready for post-MVP evolution.
